Traditional grooming can be overwhelming for many dogs. The fast-paced environment and the focus on getting everything done can lead to anxiety, stress and bad experiences. While some dogs might manage, there’s a better way that prioritizes their comfort and emotional well-being!

FEAR FREE GROOMING

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It all begins with a friendly meet and greet! After our initial intake, I’ll come meet your dog, check their coat, and assess any health or grooming needs. No grooming happens during this visit; it’s all about making your dog feel comfortable with me. We’ll introduce them to the grooming tools, and if they’re up for it, we’ll do some gentle handling. I’ll also share some quick training tips to help get them ready for the grooming day!

GROOMING SESSION:
Your dog’s comfort and safety are my top priorities! While I’d love to get that perfect haircut in one go, their feelings come first. If they show any signs of stress, we’ll pause or reschedule for another day. I’ll also suggest some easy training homework or additional training sessions to address any issues.  You are welcome to stay and participate in every session. 

Good for puppies, anxious, fearful and senior dogs or those with health issues.

WHAT IS CONSENT BASED GROOMING?
If your dog has had bad experiences, needs a muzzle for grooming or has been rejected by groomers due to behavior issues, they need a different approach to grooming. Consent-based grooming focuses on training, desensitization, and teaching your dog skills to communicate when they want to be involved or take a break. Think of it like raising your hand at the dentist—your dog gets to signal when they're ready, giving them the confidence and a peace of mind to proceed with the grooming process.

SESSIONS:
Each session combines grooming and training to meet your dog's specific needs. We'll start with training at first, so don't wait until grooming is needed! 

WHAT YOU'LL GET:
I will be with you step by step to coach you on new skills and concepts. 
Homework will be provided for you to do prior to our next session. 
Virtual check-ins between in-person session to address any concerns or questions.
Video submit reviews and feedback is provided in between active sessions
Remember, changing behaviors and overcoming fears takes time and patience, but it’s essential to ensure your dog receives the care they need without the stress and worry.  We'll work together and communicate to your dog that grooming is safe.

LET'S GET STARTED!

Th first step is an initial intake to look at your dog’s current behavior, coat and health condition.  We'll go over grooming history, proper equipment and preparations for the meet and greet.  This session is required before booking a meet and greet or grooming session and is conducted virtually.  

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Full vaccinations not required - all sessions are one one one

  • A full session fee applies whether or not the grooming is completed.

  • ​Severely matted dogs will be shaved as dematting is painful and dangerous.  We will go over maintenance and set up a regular grooming and training schedule for prevention.  

  • Please read terms and conditions prior to booking any service. If services are booked, this indicates that you agree to all terms and conditions.
